Include me among those who have made it a point in recent days to listen and watch the hateful acts and intentions of some of today’s American “protestors.”

For many of us, especially Boomers, it (again) seems typical to recall the famous line from Pogo, cartoonist Walt Kelly’s possum character …

… “We have met the enemy, and he is us.”

But this time the opposite seems the truth. Yes, we are hearing and reading and seeing details of who and what conspires to irreparably damage our nation, and most of us know …

… “We have met the enemy, and he is definitely NOT us.”

The army of anti-Americans at issue have made their point about as well as can be. They have screamed and destroyed as necessary to put a globe-sized period at the end of their insanely stupid Intention #1 …

In the process, they have proved their intention as never before in my lifetime by tearing apart then claiming as their own a section of downtown Seattle … including a police station. As I write, they are busily planning to take their nightmare on our roads to do the same to other American cities.

BUT, as if to specifically expose the haters’ lies, a beautiful few minutes of video was splashed worldwide, originating from none other than a peaceful protest right here in Shreveport’s downtown.

It is as powerful a piece of visual and audible history as one might imagine … exposing one of the ugliest of these haters’ lies.

I join many others in thanking veteran Shreveport Police Sgt. Daniel Denby, Doug Warner of KSLA-TV News and the unnamed young woman who more than merely challenged the hate-filled demonstrations elsewhere in America …

May God Bless America.
