Will Broyles

Will Broyles is the owner/operator of RealShreveport.com.  The site, started in 2015, was birthed out of Will’s desire to see a larger voice in telling the stories that local media continually does not cover.  Will is an entrepreneur that started his first enterprise in college and has a wide variety of experience in business.  After returning to Shreveport and finding success in various businesses outside of the Shreveport area, Will embarked on a mission to discover how to help grow his home city.  Will and his brother, Jim, created the award winning Shape of Shreveport documentary series in order to highlight the often unknown rich history of Shreveport/Bossier.  Will’s passion for his city has more recently taken shape as he founded the National Premier Soccer League team, the Shreveport Rafters FC, in 2016.

In almost every facet of Will’s career, he has learned that being a disruptor and innovator is a key tenant to success.  Early in his career, Will was targeted by self-anointed corrupt bureaucrats who demanded he compromise himself.  When he refused, his financial livelihood was attacked endlessly.  Will fortunately adapted and overcame, something he considers himself highly fortunate to accomplish.  His goal in growing RealShreveport.com is to pursue truth and accountability in local governance as a form of giving back to the community he loves and has given him opportunities others don’t have.  He holds strong to the belief that an educated civic body breeds an engaged civic body.  Will has seen and experienced the very thing he believes is killing Shreveport, a secretive and small group of people with the most power and resources taking advantage of others, especially the area’s shrinking middle class.  He hopes the antidote for this problem is in large part the existence of this site as a disruptor of the status quo and an innovator in returning important information to the public so the entirety of the community can gain its voice back.
