CPSB Op Against Critics is (Typically) Self-Defeating
March 13, 2016
This update is written both to pass along a new development in the saga of theft at Woodlawn High School, and as a request for assistance from readers. The main subject is top CPSB administrator Billy Snow, and his nutty op to silence any public criticism of our school system.
Before I go further, I thank my friend who forwarded to me the subject message from Snow. I well respect the fact that she had every right to keep it to herself.
For those new to this, the subject – and now-proven – theft at Woodlawn was covered-up by CPSB bosses for at least 13 days, beginning on February 26th. I went public with the available facts when tipped by a source who has asked to remain anonymous. First, however, I emailed Superintendent T. L. Goree for confirmation or refutation of the allegations.
Goree never responded to my email, and when I went public with the claim two days later, it was to ask friends to share any knowledge of the matter they had, taking care to note that I yet had no confirmation of the theft / cover-up. I was very quickly contacted by staff at The Inquisitor who confirmed the theft, and had additional facts they posted on their website later than day.
Team Goree’s in-house “marketing” staff – yes, we pay for that – ONLY THEN prepared a press release confirming the theft, which was picked up more or less verbatim by local media.
In other words, the theft DID occur. The theft WAS covered-up by Goree and team. There IS a criminal investigation underway. No news media here had acknowledge until then of these facts, or they were providing cover for Goree’s decision to cover-up the theft.
The theft cover-up may trace to the fact that Woodlawn High School is a “Transformation Zone” school, i.e., one which Goree holds up as proof that he is improving the school system. Too, there is yet another tax package from CPSB to be voted on April 9th.
(Please note as you continue reading that Billy Snow has never met, spoken or otherwise communicated with me. He knows nothing about me.)
Billy Snow, who we pay over $100,000 a year, came here from Texas in a package deal with Goree, and is a close friend of the CPSB boss. He is now contacting those on social media, and presumably elsewhere, who have shared my articles about the Woodlawn caper.
Snow “trolls” social media to find those sharing my articles about the theft and cover-up. In his message to those he thus targets, Snow cites the supposed untruthfulness of my work, my reliance on an anonymous source, and my cooperation with a “gossip rag.” He warns that my work is “incendiary,” and exhibits conspiratorial thinking.
The fact that what I have written is true has no bearing whatsoever in Snow’s twisted mind.
Snow cites as a fellow-traveler in his awful view of me and my work the principal of University Elementary School, Kasie Mainiero. (I have never met the lady.) I doubt Ms. Mainiero appreciates such a distinction.
As most of us know and will conclude, Snow has a constitutional right to say whatever he wishes, no matter than such assertions were already proven to be lies when he wrote them. BUT, he has no right to do so while I (and other taxpayers) pay to put food on his table.
As soon as Snow is on his way back to Texas or wherever he next chooses to practice his dark arts, he can fire away with impunity … and at his own risk. Snow now does what he does as CPBS / Goree enforcer because he has a phalanx of lawyers and other protectors working for him … on our dime.
I have, of course, written Goree and the CPSB to sanction Snow.
I am not holding my breath. Nowadays, this schlock passes for a public system entrusted with educating our children.
