In my lifetime of such awareness, I have believed the greatest dangers America has faced were the Cuban Missile Crisis, the home-grown social and political upheaval of race “warfare” in the South, and by the Vietnam War.

I now see America in what appears to be another descent into marked and dangerous upheaval.

Such is not easy for me to believe. I decided after the Vietnam War that America’s system of government and other internal protections had proven far, far superior to those in any other nation, providing us with unique strength should it be necessary.

Too, our nation’s constitutionally guaranteed “freedom of the press” had seemed to me to be America’s ace in the hole. The mainstream media, after all, was profit-driven and therefore self-policing, and the journalism profession was as honest and American as the rest of us.

Today, I do not believe these things. Our nation’s current threats are both foreign and domestic, working together in notable ways, plying trades we have no apparent ability to protect against.

As notable players in our nation’s news media have been taken over by ideological and other interests here and elsewhere, our nation’s center-right has in context been all but abandoned.

As our current presidential campaign has developed, which is to say degenerated, we have now been treated to perhaps the period at the end of America’s sentence about journalistic malfeasance … enter National Public Radio, best known as “NPR.”

Its exposure this week as just one more antagonist of many Americans – not to mention the American taxpayers who help fund it – rips it for me.

Here is the question asked of NPR by one of its listeners earlier this week:

“Someone please explain why NPR has apparently not reported on the Joe Biden, Hunter Biden story in the last week or so that Joe did know about Hunter’s business connections in Europe that Joe had previously denied having knowledge?”

And here is the response by NPR’s public editor:

“We don’t want to waste our time on stories that are not really stories, and we don’t want to waste the listeners’ and readers’ time on stories that are just pure distractions, and quite frankly, that’s where we ended up, this was … a politically driven event and we decided to treat it that way.”

In fact, this “politically driven event” may well prove to be the unveiling of perhaps the most corrupt – and therefore compromised – President (Biden) in American history. Such facts have surfaced since this NPR editor thoroughly ruined that brand.

“NPR” does stand, after all, for National PUBLIC Radio. Regardless that it receives relatively little taxpayer money, every penny of it should now be stopped, dead-cold. Too, this bunch should drop the word “public” from its name, since the “p” actually stands for “partisan.”

To me, what has taken over much of the “news media” is a poisonous monstrosity branded by such key names as Soros / China / Google / Facebook / Twitter / Apple. It is anything BUT pro-American. (Yes, I am fully aware that this article is posted on Facebook.)

Soon, America may elect a remarkably corrupt President whose crimes were first uncovered, presented and understood by many well before his election.

Should that occur, we who have believed in “the American dream” will be harshly awakened.
